... the eclectic "gustos" of our fellow collectors friends!
I love collecting, and though I am a newcomer to the world of watch collecting (having arrived to it about five or six years ago only) I have been deeply and seriously involved with collecting other objects for more than 40 years now.
My main collection refers to old guns and knives. I also love shooting, and I have authored several books in Spanish language about knives.
I have been collecting knives for about four decades, both fixed blade ones (Randalls, gaucho knives, custom knives of all sorts, antique bowies and other knives) as well as folding knifes (Spanish navajas, French Laguioles, modern and vintage).
I have been also interested in diving, sport scuba diving, and of course a pasionate of everything connected with the story of diving, and collect some old equipment I used myself during my first dives during the late 1960´s. Also hav e a small collection of helmet divers stattuetes (and a real hard hat helmet too!)
Well, thing is that when you get obsessed with some theme, you collect many things: objects, books, photographs, etc. and this gets accumulating and taking space at home or whenever you try to store it.
I have been also involved in pen collecting. That is fountain pens, both modern and vintage. I got more that 500 hundred pens now! This is also one obsession of mine! ANd it takes a lot of space too!
Fortunately, watches and pens can be worn or used every day, and these items are the most rewarding of all objects I collect for this reason.
I am sharing some pictures and I will also show the watch I chose for this week end, though it is not in same picture with other collectibles. It is a Lemania chrono which belonged to the South African Air Force, so marked on its case back.
I wish you and our friends will enjoy these random pictures, and I send my best wishes for a great week end to every body here!
Very cordially, Abel.
