Confession of an obsessed mind

 By: Ruckdee : June 2nd, 2014-02:36
My confession is this: I cant seem to have enough moonphase watches. Here's my current stable. As a college student beginning to understand mechanical watches in 1999, I was fascinated by the look if not the complication of the moonphase display as seen ...

I can understand the obsession

 By: jml_watches : June 2nd, 2014-03:54
Hi I can understand the obsession - all look really elegant and refined. Bothe the Mast Ultra Thin Moon and the Grand reverse Calendar have a lot going for them. I really like the Reverso - really elegant and a lot of appeal - it just feels a tad too larg...

Most romantic of all complication

 By: Ares501 - Mr Green : June 2nd, 2014-04:03
Great post and lovely pictures Thank you Damjan

The word "romantic" escaped me when I was writing.

 By: Ruckdee : June 2nd, 2014-04:57
I wanted to say that but could only think of other words like classical or sentimental which don't quite correspond with what I had in mind. Romantic it is, yes, thank you very much for that and also for the compliment. Ruckdee

I fully appreciate the passion and attraction

The MUT Moon is perhaps one of the most beautiful and comfortable watches out there, with just enough to create the interest but not overdoing it. The legibility, which is paramount to me in any watch is also present - the finishing on each half of the ha...

Thank you for the reassurance. It is the collective pics from other MUT Moon 39 owners...

 By: Ruckdee : June 2nd, 2014-09:39
...that pushed me over the edge. Now that I have the watch in hand, I ask myself again why I waited for so long. Thanks again. Ruckdee

Fantastic.....

I will surely strive for that productivity. Thank you for sharing the story.

It is very good to know indeed. Ruckdee

Your MUT moon 39 is simply perfect!

Looks great on you and looks gorgeous on the photos you took. I love the case and the sunburst dial. Thanks for sharing Ruckdee and congrats on a fantastic collection! See you soon :) Cheers Robin

Like you, I cannot run out of nice details to mention for this watch.

Everything looks just right. Thank you for stopping by to say hi! Ruckdee

Hi, Ruckdee...

The hands on most Master Controls are half polished and half frosted (sandblasted), which allows for easy reading in almost all lighting conditions. -Dean

Thank you for that important bit of information. Very nice to know.

 By: Ruckdee : June 2nd, 2014-09:52
And it makes sense too for them to finish the hands this way. Ruckdee

That is suhc a romantic theme, my friend. Congratulations.

I specially love these " UT " cases, their shape, profile. I would have loved to see a hinged case back on this one. But a superb Watch, which will surely provide you a lot of pleasure. All the best, Nicolas

Thank you, Nicolas. I am really loving this UT case.

It is just so proper and all. Will try to produce more wristshots as I wear the watch more. Ruckdee

Ah that master moon!

 By: Echi : June 3rd, 2014-00:13
I meant the one you sold... I know that feeling. Felt the same way when I sold my GT Reverso which led to me buying a Duo after several years just to plug that nagging feeling in my head! Great article and superb photographs as usual, Ruckdee!

I can understand

 By: gup502 : June 2nd, 2014-08:52
you must have been dreaming about some of those attractive moon phase (faces) before you admitted that you could now focus on work. The fact is there is only one moon we see each night when the sky is clear but they come in many faces on a dial of a watch...

One peril of working from home is that...

 By: Ruckdee : June 2nd, 2014-10:11
...without discipline (raise my hand, guilty as charged), it is too convenient to drift or be carried away by other things. This was not quite a problem back in the days when Internet was paid for by the minute. Anyway, I became aware of the problem at on...

Congrats to all these moons.. The UT39 is a juwel.. Captivating !..

Wonderful collection, Ruckdee!

Congratulation, that is a stunning watch! :) Since you are into Moon Phase watches, you should have a look at the GP offering. Normally the Moon phase is connected to the date (one moon phase = 29,53 days). These kind of movements requires adjustment ever...

Thank you, Blomman, for the tip.

I understand the system you describe and find it to be impressive too. At one I point I looked at the Lange 1 Moonphase with a similar gearing system for the moonphase. Maybe one day :) Ruckdee

I'm confused about your lunacy

 By: MTF : June 3rd, 2014-06:00
ruckdee, I understand your attraction with moon display watches. But why? Is it the regularity of the moon cycle before, during and after our time on Earth? Is it simply the beauty of the moon? I am confused why you did not show a LUC Chopard moon display...

Super sharp eyes. I didn't think anyone would be able to make out wording on the necktie.

 By: Ruckdee : June 3rd, 2014-18:48
I simply love the moonphase for aesthetics reasons. It serves no practical purpose for me. I don't have a need to really know the phases of the moon. Just an obsession for its beauty as I said :P Your LUC Moon is superb, the starry sky especially. Thank y...

Its the old LUC logo that is distinctive

 By: MTF : June 3rd, 2014-20:40
ruckdee, Its the LUC logo shape rather than the letters that is distinctive and recognisable on the necktie. It is the original logo painted on the farm workshop by Louis Ulysse Chopard when he founded the company. We included the logo engraving on the ba...

Thank you for the clue. There is really something to learn every day.

I didn't realize the significance of that logo shape until you pointed it out. Thank you also for showing the Chopard Purists watch. It looks sharp back and front. I am not in the position to order one though as I have imposed a rule on myself to buy from...

There is a "Purists watch"??!!? Where?

Moonphases are beautiful and really adds something different than time to a watch. There are some amazing moon-themed timepieces out there!

I should be able to show you my JLC moons together with...

I'm sure the right moonphase watch will come along that will attract you one day. Thank you for your well wish. Ruckdee
