Independents: Lovely blue and a seconds disk is an option too

There's usually an option to choose a seconds disk if you prefer to do away with the full seconds hand. Highly recommend ochs und junior - my annual calendar is going in for its first (overdue) service as soon as i get off this oil rig. Bought Sep 2014... and the sturgeon strap is still going strong

Independents: seconds

The top Nebra version has a seconds hand, whereas the silver version has a seconds disc - that central disc with the small indent will revolve, but no 'hand' ... entirely 'up to you', the purchaser, which you'd prefer ( i chose the seconds disc on mine). ps you can also choose whch side to have the

Independents: hour marker...

I'm sure Beat would agree to do it if you insisted...but it isn't such a good idea. Having the hour markers at those 2 hour intervals divides the 30 days into fives - and it is this that makes reading the date so easy at a glance, once you're used to it (just as it once took some time to get used to

Ego is lovely - here'a a shot of mine (well, the wife's now...) showing the side view. It has the conical shape similar to the v-matic (which is my watch), and hsares the one, two or three dot above the date number to represent 10's, 20's and 30's of the month. ego side I've sold my Sigma, but still

Independents: decisions, decisions... ;-)

Well, if you've at least decided which model - date, annual calendar, perpetual etc - then remember you can always change it again later, if you wanted i.e. change dial colours finish etc (I'm saying this but haven't actually asked this of Beat!). The customizer is great for giving you an idea of wh

Horological Meandering: Lady v-matic

A ladies Ventura V-matic... 31.6mm ( and 34.5 across the lugs). It's pretty small for a COSC automatic chronometer In fact it's so small the wife says she can't see the time easily enough (!) so she's ended up with a Ventura Ego 36mm, while my V-matic is 39mm ( as is my ochsundjunior annual calendar

Independents: Min

Well, at least they decided to keep the 'min' next to the 30 there.... I mean without it, how would you know what some numbers from 0 to 60 would represent on a watch after all 😉

Independents: Lovely....

that would be my Urwerk of choice too... fortunately( ? ;-0 ) my wrist is not big enough (or my wallet for that matter) so my jealousy is under control... I've always preferred those original circular hour dials rather than the later pointy and more complicated versions - and the hours exposed rathe
