Patek Philippe 5970G. For the beauty of it.
The G is not my favorite version, well, with this silver dial. I would prefer the Salmon G or the Black dialed P. But, that being said, I cannot deny this perpetual chronograph is a killer and a dream for me. The kind of watch which would make me happily ...
All I need in my collection is a Patek Philippe PCC....
and the 5970J/R/G/P or 5270J/R/G/P will do...just need the push to trade for it, someday when I feel I need to consolidate. I just need one...one grail...and such grand complication is all I like to spend for my watch hobby.
I can certainly appreciate your feeling that way. With the possible exception of 5016 which is stratospherically priced, 5970 is my absolute favorite modern Patek.
For me it is the perfect watch in any metal. If I were to limit myself to a 3 watch modern collection, it would be 5970 in any metal (but P is my favorite), 5070G and a sport Rolex (preferably a steel Daytona). Next month Phillips Geneva will have all 4 m...

You know my story and I’ve been very fortunate to own a few 5970’s. For me the 5970 creates a real problem. Which colour metal???? They all look so good in this reference it makes it really hard. Dial colour aside it is truly for me the only patek referen...
Wonderful duo, but if I had to pick only one, it would be, without any kind of hesitation, the 5970G Salmon. I hope we'll meet one day, and that you will show it to me.

This to me is a flawless PCC! Of course for me PP sets the bar for all PCCs! A white metal variant with either a silver, white or salmon dial remains my favourite!

Of course it is not the only reason for me to prefer 5970 over 5270 but it is one more reason. The dial of 5970 is flawless 👌👌

It could easily be a 1 watch Patek collection, or a 1 watch collection, period. I once had a salmon 5270 on my wrist and could take it home but I declined because there’s still the 5970 which sets the bar. It is a fantastic piece.

I much prefer 5970
over the 5270 which has a bigger case which wears big. 5970 is far more elegant, has an interesting dial and great movement.
