Hi, Ken!

Mar 14, 2014,14:42 PM

Of all the watches created in recent memory as reissues or re-imaginings of their original pieces, the Legend Diver is my favorite.  A great, modern take on the original vintage -- reliable and affordable!

It's a fantastic watch!

Hope you are well!

Friday WristScan- The watch I want to be known by

 By: mkt33 : March 13th, 2014-13:08
My "trademark" watch. The Jaquet Droz Equation of Time. For many reasons, this is a very special watch. It was my first major purchase to celebrate the news that I was going to be a new dad. Also the gentleman from whom I purchased the EOT, introduced me ...

Surprising opening :)

 By: Ares501 - Mr Green : March 13th, 2014-13:18
I must admit :) I was quite sure that the other one from J*D placed peacefully on babies chest is the one Sincerely Damjan

Sacrifices...

 By: mkt33 : March 14th, 2014-04:32
The Paillonnee I purchased right before his birth...but the EOT started it all. Then when I had mad daughter, I reserved the Paillonnee for her. But then circumstances changed, I had to sell the Paillonnee :-( Thank you...especially for your postings whil...

Sad to hear that you had to let go

 By: Ares501 - Mr Green : March 14th, 2014-07:00
of that piece My daughter is mad as well :) In hope that we'll have J*D forum under your steady hand again I remain sincerely yours D

You just have to have faith that there are better things behind door #2

 By: mkt33 : March 14th, 2014-13:26
In my case I had to pay for medical bills...not for one but two (my "surprise" twins) Well worth the trade imho. As for J*D, I wish the best for the brand. Still very interesting stuff, but not the way I wished they would have gone. Best, Mike ...

of a kid is worth more than any timepiece ever out there Yes J*D lost some of flavor unfortunately and I think regarding departure of Mr. Emch anyhow you have great kids and they bring happiness / joy no timepiece can Yours D

Absolutely...

 By: mkt33 : March 15th, 2014-05:19
He had an artist's drive and focus. A lot of it was lost after he departed. I have no doubt that he was tired and mentally drained after running the brand. Glad to see him at the helm of RJ, where he has brought new life...to the point where now the desig...

Great choice, Mike...!

 By: mkt33 : March 14th, 2014-04:35
I was cleaning out the attic and found photos of myself in College... In hindsight I cannot believe that was 25 years ago. If only some of our watches could talk...I bet they would tell some interesting stories. Best, Mike

Here in the forum I am probably known by one of these...

By: blomman Mr Blue : March 13th, 2014-14:43
Either 65.... Or 68 (67 ;))... But maybe I would prefer to to be known by one of these.... :) What do you think would be the best fit for me...? HAGWE Blomman ...

SS + YG? That counts! ;) [nt]

 By: Subexplorer : March 14th, 2014-05:25
... beautiful timepieces dear Blomman. Though if I would be able to chose a favorite, that steel Geophisics would be my choice! Have a great week end my friend! Very cordially, Abel.

Funny, but when it comes to the Geophysic...

By: blomman Mr Blue : March 14th, 2014-09:20
I have always favoured the RG. Long before I found one myself! Thank you, dear Abel! Have a great weekend, my friend Best Blomman

Yes, Blomman!

 By: respo : March 14th, 2014-06:31

Either of the 2 pairs .. Are simply perfect.. Polaris x2 & Geophysic x2..

 By: hs111 : March 14th, 2014-15:52
.. How much better can it get ? - I tend to think, this is it, pretty much so ! The summit of the Divers/ Memovoxes on one hand & - Geophysic, the magic, the elusive - in two variants, on the other : SS & YG - In tiny, little envy, but veeery happy for yo...

It is the RG version....

Thank you, dear HS! :) Last year I was lucky to Geophysic pair! I don't know if you have noticed, but some of JLC's watches from end 50's are not that "rose" inn the colour. But if you look at this photo, compare the index on the YG dial in the middle whi...

Thx a lot.. The comparison pic makes that quite clear.. BTW..

 By: hs111 : March 15th, 2014-04:17
.. I guess, the RG version is more desirable, anyway !.. - To double up the Geophysic - WoW !! .. That's perfect ! Therefore, even more sincere Congratulations - What a pair !! Again, my Best for this WE !! :) :) hs

Super nice post, Mike. My schyzophrenic nature put me in trouble.

I was waiting to see what you would choose to highlight

 By: mkt33 : March 14th, 2014-05:06

Can't believe it... I was hestitating between the Freak, the Sonata and this Master Minute

 By: respo : March 14th, 2014-06:33
There are several JLC, UNs (Freak or Sonata) that I associate so strongly with you, Vlad, but I think you picked THE ONE. The MMR is so Vlad ever since the Lord of the Rings photo. Great choice for this topic and for your wrist today. Best always, respo

One of my all-time favourites from you.. In all your collection.. :))

 By: hs111 : March 14th, 2014-07:14

Nice topic, Mike! I bought myself a watch when I learned my first child would be born, too! :-) But I am not certain there's a watch I want to be known by. How about this: I would want to be known by the community of which I am a part! In that spirit, may...

Good pick..

Hi, Ken!

Of all the watches created in recent memory as reissues or re-imaginings of their original pieces, the Legend Diver is my favorite. A great, modern take on the original vintage -- reliable and affordable! It's a fantastic watch! Hope you are well! Daos

Hey, too!

 By: KIH : March 14th, 2014-18:40
Great to meet you here. Yeah, I got on the verge of pressing "enter" more than a few times about this re-issue - you know what I mean..... It looks that good - again, timeless design and great functionality.... So nice to talk to you, my friend! Ken

I miss you!

In my book, the best modern Longines, by far. Best, Nicolas

I agree that it is the best Longines...

i fully agree with you Daos. although i dont own and have no need for the LLD. the non date model is a superb re edition. as you saw i posted a couple of re editions, both of which i really like...except for the dates. i think the 24 hour works best as th...

That is a cool watch.

That is such a wonderful interpretation...

I don't think many other members (none that I can think of, at least), work in the same office with a fellow Purist. We can talk watches, and swap timepieces to check out the other's watch on-the-wrist, etc. It's nice to work alongside a kindred spirit! :...

sounds awesoe...I bet you are right, there are not very many PuristS who work together
