It's heavy but seems to fit in between the bones in my wrist so is less massive than it looks. The curving-under case shape helps, as do the nonexistent lugs... ...

The madness for me was going from this to this in around six years. The Reverso Grand Date seemed like an extravagant stretch, a luxurious endulgement, but a nice reward at the time I purchased it. The F.P.Journe was an impossible dream that turned into a...  

.....yes, i think we all go through a little bit of that in watches. I remember the firs time I spent over £200o on a watch....it was also a JLC....and i still have it...but at the time of buying it, I was physically sweating with stress!

Firstly, welcome to PuristS and congratulations on your very first post. I am privileged to have your first post here on Wristscan!! Two lovely shots and glad to see you embrace the mad theme so well. Looking forward to seeing more of your watches on othe... 

Even your user name, watchnuts, fits the madness theme! And two lovely Minerva's from the period of transition and the end of the family owned company as we knew it. You have some great horological history there and nice evolution of a movement going back... 

Thanks for sharing the review, it is quite informative and interesting. Indeed one of the reasons I collected these two lovely babies was because they were produced pre-Vendome/Richemont and I really admired their historical value.

Popping through Singapore on the way to the Maldives, I had a day to kill so I spent the morning at Dempsey Hill, my old Sunday brunch haunt, and then back to Marina Bay Sands to my hotel and some shopping. Happened to enter the casino for a quick look, a...  

. . . that probably a few of us can relate to. Instant cash, instant gratification; initial remorse, then full acceptance. I'm still waiting for the instant cash ;-) . . .

The American 1921 drove me to madness until I succumbed to the VC Moderator's command to "Just buy the damn watch already!" The 1921 also started my own Vacheron Constantin madness, which condition only seems to become more acute after three years. No cur...

That is gorgeous. I remember reading about Lehmann Schrammberg a couple of years ago, and then nothing. They have very little brand visibility here in Asia. I always preferred manual movements due to a lack of an obstructive rotor, but this is solved with...
