The verdicts are in...

As always the judges had a difficult task to decide the three "heaviest" watches.  Please thank the judges for their efforts.

As a sidenote, thank you all for participating.  After I posted, I realized that my post was way too heavy sentimentally and potentially took away from the celebration and joy we share each week on Wristscan.  So I hope you all can accept my apology.

Now for the verdicts!

Judge 1: Ubik for the wristshot of the week

Third position - Ken's GP, a watch with a great heart inside.
Second position - Andrewluff's Pam. All I can say is ruuuun!
First Place - Poktori's Panny - just a sweet pawshot.

Congrats to Poktori!

Judge 2: Crown Comfort for the static photo of the week

I have 3 close contenders for the static shot.

Damjan's Jumbolino, which I think is the composition that captures the theme best. Third place.

Runner up is MattS' shot of the Jaeger Polaris in the glass with the "heavy" Eiffel tower in the back.

Winner I vote though for UBIK's vintage military watch with the caged case. Superb photo with sharp details. My winner.

Judge 3: Magnus (Ornatus Mundi) for the Watch of the Week:

My choice for the WoW is deBalzac’s Eberhard 8 days

I consider it the feather-light heavyweight amongst all these watches, since it was one of the oldest ‘interesting’ watches produced before the ‘in-house craze’ really started. It was intelligently constructed using a Peseux 7001 as base movement. Thus, from very early on it demonstrated a very worthwhile middle way between confectionary movements and in-house creations.  I always followed it and had a liking for this brand.

Enjoy, Mike
