Stealth is Relative: Entry #2

Sep 11, 2014,02:29 AM

The quintessential PuristS' stealth watch must be the St Gallen PuristSPro All-Black RESCUE.

See how the real carbon fibre dial changes stealthily with the changes in light?

Also the shaded black SuperLuminova for the PuristSPro logo at 6 o'clock that is only revealed by harsh light of the flash-gun.

In real use, the logo is not seen black-on-black dial until it glows.

The only time that the PPro ABR watch is NOT stealthy is when we have an ABR GTG   wink

Then, we pretty much draw attention with our wristscans.......

MTF

Wristscan - starting 11th September: Your STEALTH watch

 By: Baron - Mr Red : September 10th, 2014-23:06
This week’s Wristscan is about “stealth”. Nilo tells me that in certain parts of the world, if you walk around with a Rolex on your wrist, you are inviting trouble. Similarly, I know of one guy who wears a Patek because in his workplace, a Patek just isn'...

When I read 9 / 11, I shiver. Nobody can forget.

 By: amanico : September 10th, 2014-23:45
But Life has to go on.... So, here is my vision of Stealth.... Best, Nicolas ...

I've looked your Jaeger over a few times . . .

 By: Dr No : September 11th, 2014-03:06
. . . and still having a hard time understanding how it qualifies as stealthy. That's an especially handsome watch, Nicolas.

Yes, but the intriguing shaped case, compressor crowns . . .

 By: Dr No : September 11th, 2014-10:06
. . . and handsome black dial - these characteristics are so prominent. There has to be a stealthier watch in your collection. MUT, perhaps?

Compressor case as well... I have a doubt about stealth...

 By: amanico : September 11th, 2014-10:24
A Geophysic is more " stealth "... But it is much more famous than this MM Deep Sea... Which I feel a bit paradoxal.... Maybe my Girard Perregaux Gyromatic? But its inverse Arrow indexes could not be perceived as " Stealth ". Best, my friend. Nicolas

Geophysic - yes, that . . .

 By: Dr No : September 11th, 2014-10:49
. . . would definitely qualify as stealthy!

In that case....

 By: amanico : September 11th, 2014-10:52
Just for your greedy eyes... ...

Much . . .

 By: Dr No : September 11th, 2014-11:04
. . . better! A watch only a purist would notice ;-) . . .

That is for sure! [nt]

 By: amanico : September 11th, 2014-11:05

How good can it get !.. Guess, meanwhile many eyes focused.. For this juwel.. Super shots !

 By: hs111 : September 12th, 2014-00:29
.. needless to say & three of absolute fav-shots ! Hmmh.. Funny also, the Geophysic always leaves me reflecting.. Special, very much so ! Best, hs

this one hurts me

 By: Baron - Mr Red : September 12th, 2014-10:48

yes....but....

 By: Baron - Mr Red : September 12th, 2014-10:58
.....with a 1019, 2914 and 3417 in my bag already......maybe you can see that this one might hurt slightly more than normal?

One shot specially made for you, dear friend! :)

Don't thank me....! Best Blomman ...

Three perfect shots.. Pleasure to look at.. My fav is the "Tile"..Then the dark blue sea !

 By: hs111 : September 11th, 2014-07:43
9/11 - yes, horror for the world for quite a long time to come.. Interesting, but deeply human, that most people know exactly, what they did, where they were.. .. Burned in .. Bending our heads with compassion & memories.. Best, hs

Yes, I think that many of us still remember where they were and what...

 By: amanico : September 11th, 2014-07:46
They were doing at that time, 13 years back... As for the tile shot... My fav, too. ;) Best, my dear friend. Nicolas

Cool piece Nicolas

They often know the pen...

 By: matthewking : September 11th, 2014-00:02
..but usually not the watch. From the hardest working co. in the business, here's my submission for stealth. Macro shot. ...

The absence of a seconds hand . . .

 By: Dr No : September 11th, 2014-03:03
. . . correlates with stealthiness. That's partly why I prefer 910 over 911 Flightmasters, and Karrée perpetuals over Senators. Art

Very nice stealth! :) [nt]

 By: MTF : September 11th, 2014-02:16
What you don't see with PuristS is sometimes more interesting than what you can see.... My 1st entry is the most stealthy wrist-shot. Can you identify the watch with invisibility cloak activated? Hint: It's Anthony Tsai and the case back markings are in r...

I am having problems viewing the second scan watch....

 By: Baron - Mr Red : September 12th, 2014-10:50
......but mainly because of the first scan

This one definitely slips under the radar

 By: Geo : September 11th, 2014-02:17
No one recognises it as a pretty special watch. I love it and wear it a lot. GEO ...

The blue stitching on the strap . . .

 By: Dr No : September 11th, 2014-03:15
. . . complements the stitching on your sleeve, Geo. Another compositional masterpiece, as we've come to expect.

Very understandable!

Stealth is Relative: Entry #3

 By: MTF : September 11th, 2014-02:40
My final entry is actually not on-the-wrist. Does that make it an entry for WotW? Photo shows a watch crafted with meticulous detail by a gentleman and true PuristS. He even rejected the first set of dials and date discs because they were the "wrong" shad...

Most of my new watches - each and every . . .

 By: Dr No : September 11th, 2014-02:42
. . . G O, as well as the Zenith - have drawn comment from people who aren't watch-conscious. (The GS hasn't yet, but I've only had it for a year.) On the other hand, none of my vintage pieces seem to elicit any interest at all - not even Black Connie. So...

Actually, Nicolas, it was originally gifted to him . . .

 By: Dr No : September 11th, 2014-02:54
. . . by his eldest brother, who acquired this plus two more nearly identical Conquests (the others had yellow gold hands and markers) in July '56. The other two have both been lost, in separate burglaries.

 By: Dr No : September 12th, 2014-10:58

Here are two "Stealths".. They excel but often unnoticed.. ;))

Lovely Traveller II and a prime example of wearing a watch

 By: crown comfort : September 11th, 2014-05:22
that makes the owner happy while others may be clueless about its complications and value. As a bonus, it has the most useful complications a traveller could need. CC

CC: Thx for your nice words & kind looking !.. You described it perfectly ..:) [nt]

 By: hs111 : September 11th, 2014-05:41
almost trivial, but useful ! This GP Traveller / Time Zone Alarm is, how to also put it, maybe: ".. a watch for oneself", not for Bling or for others !! Thanks again, for your kind interest ! Best & HAGWE , hs

Since when do you own the GP Traveller II, my friend???
