The winners of this week's Wristscans are...
Nov 03, 2014,16:28 PM
Thank you to everyone who participated in this week's slightly morbid but Halloween appropriate theme.
For the wristshot of the week, I asked EricS to be our judge. Erik's post on this week's wrist scan was his 4th post on PuristSPro, I thought some fresh eyes would make a great call, and he did great. Here is his judgement:
I'm going to have to pick deBalzac's Pythagore. The last photo with the small droplets on the crystal really made it look like a goddess frozen in time.
Congrats Livius and thank you Erik for being a judge.
For Wristshot of the week, I asked Raymond_S to be our judge. Here is Raymond's judgement:
"My first choice of course is my own skeleton ML, since it's symmetric face...If not, I vote for MattS watch on the cross gate."
I think this is the first time a judge has picked his own wristshot and since I don't recall any official rules I guess his judgement stands. Personally, I like his wristshot of the ML skeleton but since this is the PuristS community and we strive for the concept of 1-7-8, I'm going to make an exception and call it a tie...so this week we have two wristshot winners!
And finally for Watch of the Week, our judge is our own Moderator Ken:
"Hi Mike,
Here are my selection for this week's Watch Of The Week category. Considering the theme this week, I see lots of "rare" and "valuable (in many ways)" models. It was not easy to narrow it down to three nominees, but here we go (the order does not mean the prize):
1. NIlo's Invicta
This is a great looking watch and Nilo's watch box must be full of these hard-to-find stuff. Cool!
2. Art's 1957 Connie with black dial
As a fellow Connie fan, this one is so desirable and I have yet another one to chase after
A great find and priceless collection!
3. only5402's Breitling
Normally, I am not a big fan of "modern" Breitling while I admire vintage Breitling (remember: I am more attracted to the movement than the dial's originality or not). But it is not often to find decent condition (read "dial clean enough to wear") vintage Breitling, and this example is very nice. I would very much like this one, too!!!
And the winner is........
only5402's Breitling! I couldn't resist the temptation of search after the one like this condition. Envious and congrats!
Congrats to all of the nominees. The difference is so tiny. And everyone's submission has stories behind it. Thank you everyone!
Ken"
