I am in admiration of what many "collectable" vintage watches now fetch. Maybe OK for a watch worn by a historical celebrity with a unique story but otherwise the prices paid are beyond my understanding. I enjoy wearing my few vintage watches without worrying about how precious they are and I can afford to cope with any damage they may suffer. So I admit these auction prices are really out of my league.
Today my wrist bears a 1958 UN ref: 5640 with preserved patina, understated dial and a reliable, accurate Peseux 333 SC movement, which to me is a joy and shown here again.
