 By: KIH : January 9th, 2014-08:37
... candy for the eyes... Thanks, Joe! Ken

 By: Baron - Mr Red : January 9th, 2014-08:40
.....but magical to my eyes too

I know the feeling...

 By: KIH : January 9th, 2014-08:41
... as I am now being sucked into Rolex world, too, for the first time in my life...... There may be an opportunity to show here one day :-) Ken

Music to my ears...

 By: Baron - Mr Red : January 9th, 2014-08:56

Sort of in between....

 By: KIH : January 9th, 2014-09:03
... the one around 2003 or 04, Sub 50th anniversary thing?

Re: Pure pleasure....

By: blomman Mr Blue : January 9th, 2014-11:45
How I understand you, my friend! :) HAGWE Blomman

Hey Ken, do you do everything three times?

By: Mark in Paris : January 9th, 2014-08:22
The L1, the Dato if I remember well... glad it ends well finally But since I sold my 1815 to fund the DB25, it remains in my mind that I'll get a rose gold Lange again one day or another. So maybe I'm on the same trend there! I as already told you before,...

uhhmmm...

 By: Baron - Mr Red : January 9th, 2014-08:39
.....sex?

Do you wish to sit down and tell us more Joe ? ^^

By: Mark in Paris : January 9th, 2014-08:58
I must admit this interpretation crossed my mind a wee bit when I wrote it.

I am sure it did!

 By: Baron - Mr Red : January 9th, 2014-09:01

No... those two models only...

 By: KIH : January 9th, 2014-08:40
... but there are more "twice" models... :-) Yeah, I was and still am a fool, but my bank account is not that deep and now drying up! Unless my cash flow grows as planned, I may have to say good by to others (again)... :-( Sigh.... I would love to enter t...

Rarity...

By: Mark in Paris : January 9th, 2014-11:13
This is also what makes us love more our watches, the fact we really have to think twice before pulling the trigger, the fact we make sacrifice to fund our future beauty :) Mark

 By: gensiulia : January 9th, 2014-08:58

So do I, thanks Chris ;) [nt]

1815

 By: flamenco : January 11th, 2014-16:30
For a better cause ! A worthy cause ! Love the piano shots ... Love how a classic device contrasts a modern tech marvel. Keep em coming !

If it's open theme, here we go ...

 By: nilomis : January 9th, 2014-09:01
Saturday I will be wearing my Eterna Valjoux 72. A B&W version: Today on my wrist ... The usual Zenith. A great weekend to all, Nilo ...

That Zenith is...

 By: KIH : January 9th, 2014-09:05
... something I love.... But I prefer A386, the round version. Having said that, I am always impressed with your extensive vintage collection! Thanks, Nilo! Ken

"Extensive vintage collection"!

 By: nilomis : January 9th, 2014-09:52
Ken, I only own five vintage watches. I prefer new ones and let then to turn vintage on my wrist. The Zenith is a re edition that cellebrates the 40th anniversary of the glorious El Primero in 2009. On other hand I have friends that are hooked on vintages...

Thanks Hs ...

 By: nilomis : January 10th, 2014-05:22
Just learned that the full oiling and cleaning of my Eterna is done, along with another chronograph of a less famous brand. Stay tuned for a full review. Cheers, Nilo

As always...

By: blomman Mr Blue : January 9th, 2014-11:46
Beautiful photos/watches! :) HAGWE Blomman

Thank you Sir ...

 By: nilomis : January 10th, 2014-05:25
Currently I'm very lazy to take watch pictures. During the summertime here the light is very strong since sunrise and I hard to take a good picture. I need to do a good session of my DSC 3 counters before it acquires one scratch or mores. Cheers, Nilo

My lord ...

 By: nilomis : January 10th, 2014-06:51
As we go, there are some vintage pieces that "sing to me" and I have a particular affection for Eterna (60's/70's). Cheers, Nilo

Eterna

 By: flamenco : January 11th, 2014-16:32

It's back and in great shape ...

 By: nilomis : January 11th, 2014-17:44
Just oiling and cleaning and the Valjoux 72 is back to its former glory. No polishing or anything that could put at risk its vintage status. Thank you Flamenco, Nilo

Open theme, here is mine

 By: Horological_addict : January 9th, 2014-09:20
It gives a little feeling of adventure. But the picture was taken at home, in my bathroom. This watch deserves some real adventure... Thanks for watching ! Best regards Fabio ...

Very cool shot! :) [nt]

Thank you, hs!

 By: KIH : January 9th, 2014-18:30
... but don't count mine in the judgement :-) I love this model so much! Ken

This would have been appropriate for last week...

 By: ThomasM : January 9th, 2014-14:30
Sorry, it was a quick and dirty "grab shot" under poor lighting and camera phone (even if it was an iPhone) A group of PuristS took the Skip Barber 3 day Formula Racing program, and of course much of the afterhours conversation was about watches. Race car...

Thomas, what a fun event!

 By: KIH : January 9th, 2014-18:30
If only I were closer, I would have been there. I wish! Thanks, Thomas! Ken

We'll have to plan our next one somewhere where you can join us!

 By: ThomasM : January 10th, 2014-11:58
Suzuka, here we come! :-) I've got a Porsche buddy that drives the Sky Line Road regularly and has done track days at Suzuka. hmmm... :-) TM

Count me in!

 By: KIH : January 10th, 2014-18:27
That's "travelable (is this even English?)" distance :-) Thank you, Thomas! Ken

So you bought a Porsche AND a Lambo... Wow, the year starts well! :)

 By: amanico : January 9th, 2014-21:37
I assume this was a superb experience and moment to live, Thomas. The Formula Racing, not the addition of these 2 cars... :))) Best, Nicolas, envious!

Would you believe...

 By: ThomasM : January 10th, 2014-11:59
I was almosts as excited to see and "score" those two mini treasures as I was driving the open wheeled open cockpit cars on the track? Almost... :-) (you might know, both models are very very special to me...)

Plastic Fantastic x 2

 By: jml_watches : January 9th, 2014-14:53
Hi All Here's plastic fantastic with its Grandfather! Who knew you could get vintage plastic watches (well OK prob 1970's) Both plastic & not a quartz movement between them HAGWE JML ...

Plastic?

 By: KIH : January 9th, 2014-18:32
Wow. Must be very light - and I assume it is strong enough? Anyway, thanks for sharing with us rare, unique pieces! Ken

Both of them

 By: jml_watches : January 10th, 2014-05:14
Hi Yes they're both plastic - the diver in clear plastic I've had for about 5 years , been robust & not had any issues with it. If you look for Emas watches on Web you'll find site. They also do ceramic versions. Cheers. JML

i have the black ceramic...

 By: G99 : January 10th, 2014-05:25
i have the black ceramic with blue dial and bezel and i havent been overly impressed i'm very sad to say. the bezel is very loose, the crown went bonkers and i had to return it for repair. i wish i'd gone for the clear model as the alu ceramic is ...

Thats Disappointing

 By: jml_watches : January 10th, 2014-10:57
Hi Graham Thats disappointing - no matter how much or little you pay - you don't want your watch to have issues. My clear one has been fine - its been wear and forget really. Don't wear it often - but when I what something a bit different it fits the bill...

Killer piece Ken!

 By: -RWK- : January 9th, 2014-16:25
Best, -- Richard.

Thank you!

 By: KIH : January 9th, 2014-18:32

I was just playing around with Panasonic GH3 with my 45 mm F2.8 macro, stopped down at F22 @ ISO 200. The vintage rose dial color is difficult to capture. ...

With such DOF, you have done a good job...

 By: KIH : January 9th, 2014-18:35
... color is always difficult, in other words, lighting and white balance are always hard to adjust..... But you have done a great job! Nice one. Thank you! Ken

Colored dials always kill me

 By: Geo : January 9th, 2014-23:25
But of course this watch is more than just the dial. So beautiful. GEO

It's GP time.
