Hello all! There is no theme this week, so please submit your best shots of watches, on or off your wrist, yours or your friends or ADs, new, modern, or vintages. The judge are out there to decide Let's see what you've got! Some comments or stories behind...
The L1, the Dato if I remember well... glad it ends well finally But since I sold my 1815 to fund the DB25, it remains in my mind that I'll get a rose gold Lange again one day or another. So maybe I'm on the same trend there! I as already told you before,...
... but there are more "twice" models... :-) Yeah, I was and still am a fool, but my bank account is not that deep and now drying up! Unless my cash flow grows as planned, I may have to say good by to others (again)... :-( Sigh.... I would love to enter t...
This is also what makes us love more our watches, the fact we really have to think twice before pulling the trigger, the fact we make sacrifice to fund our future beauty :) Mark
... something I love.... But I prefer A386, the round version. Having said that, I am always impressed with your extensive vintage collection! Thanks, Nilo! Ken
Ken, I only own five vintage watches. I prefer new ones and let then to turn vintage on my wrist. The Zenith is a re edition that cellebrates the 40th anniversary of the glorious El Primero in 2009. On other hand I have friends that are hooked on vintages...
Just learned that the full oiling and cleaning of my Eterna is done, along with another chronograph of a less famous brand. Stay tuned for a full review. Cheers, Nilo
Currently I'm very lazy to take watch pictures. During the summertime here the light is very strong since sunrise and I hard to take a good picture. I need to do a good session of my DSC 3 counters before it acquires one scratch or mores. Cheers, Nilo
Just oiling and cleaning and the Valjoux 72 is back to its former glory. No polishing or anything that could put at risk its vintage status. Thank you Flamenco, Nilo
It gives a little feeling of adventure. But the picture was taken at home, in my bathroom. This watch deserves some real adventure... Thanks for watching ! Best regards Fabio ...
.. Have to ask you, to bring it along, next time we meet, pls; - Just would LOVE to see it on my wrist once.. ( Am afraid, the list gets longer..) My Best for the upcoming WE, dear friend ! hs PS: lastly, I have been typing pretty much, - having said so, ...
.. which you kindly might (again) SHOW to me, - and NOT a list for me to pursue ! -- LOL ;) And BTW, I also have a list, much smaller though, to remember, what to bring on the next occasion.. My SEARCH and HOPE- list is another issue, which you also know ...
.. your (already) fulfilled wishes , in your treasure- box ! ( eg: MMR Ti, Geophysic, your Vintage Reverso, the Septantieme, this very Salmon dial -Breguet, maybe the R- 6542, or some of your Vintage GMTs, or the Patek Worldtime, or your TR, or FF's, or.....
It is funny, during these 10 years, I didn't wear it for a long time, maybe 1 or 2 years, and then, it came back to my wrist for many times! Best, Nicolas.
Whenever I see this gorgeous salmon dial I feel the urge to go get myself a time piece with this color scheme!! (There are a few candidates out there) You are killing me, my friend!! Congrats for the almost decade long Love!! -Leon
... I have let go of 6 watches... Ever! Of those, the reason was that I had doublets ... Hands down - this one was my biggest misstake!! :( But, I let it go to a very dear old friend... And he let's me play with it now and then! :) Best Blomman
. . . Glickman's '53 RAF Omega in the foreground . . . . . . freshly drawn Bass ale and the Union Jack imprinted on a munchies menu in the background. (Bass poured in the States is brewed domestically, but still pretty damned good!) Art ...
. . . iron dustcovers, Ã la Railmaster and other expressly magnetic resistant watches of the period. I was onto one a few years ago, Nicolas, and again recently, but in both instances, circumstances were unkind. Art
Three time buying same watch Three same watches and now three outstanding pictures all in one thread I think that this is not no theme free wrist scan weekend but threesome wrist scan :) Sincerely Damjan
Sorry, it was a quick and dirty "grab shot" under poor lighting and camera phone (even if it was an iPhone) A group of PuristS took the Skip Barber 3 day Formula Racing program, and of course much of the afterhours conversation was about watches. Race car...
I was almosts as excited to see and "score" those two mini treasures as I was driving the open wheeled open cockpit cars on the track? Almost... :-) (you might know, both models are very very special to me...)
Hi All Here's plastic fantastic with its Grandfather! Who knew you could get vintage plastic watches (well OK prob 1970's) Both plastic & not a quartz movement between them HAGWE JML ...
Hi Yes they're both plastic - the diver in clear plastic I've had for about 5 years , been robust & not had any issues with it. If you look for Emas watches on Web you'll find site. They also do ceramic versions. Cheers. JML
i have the black ceramic with blue dial and bezel and i havent been overly impressed i'm very sad to say. the bezel is very loose, the crown went bonkers and i had to return it for repair. i wish i'd gone for the clear model as the alu ceramic is ...
Hi Graham Thats disappointing - no matter how much or little you pay - you don't want your watch to have issues. My clear one has been fine - its been wear and forget really. Don't wear it often - but when I what something a bit different it fits the bill...
Been wearing the Linde Werdelin Spidolite Tech Gold for the past few weeks, but sadly have shipped this back out now. Will have an on-the-wrist review coming up soon! Regards, ED-209 ...
I was just playing around with Panasonic GH3 with my 45 mm F2.8 macro, stopped down at F22 @ ISO 200. The vintage rose dial color is difficult to capture. ...
... color is always difficult, in other words, lighting and white balance are always hard to adjust..... But you have done a great job! Nice one. Thank you! Ken
Hesitated with this one many times but eventually made the right call. :) Always had a thing for the Darth Ken. Looks like it'll be a keeper this time. :) HAGWE Fernando ...
Do you have more pics of the strap? And if you are going to Geneva, please let me know, we could arrange a photo session of you know, this Cartier Tank with the white dial and red accents I love so much! :) Best, my dear friend. Nicolas
That is just awesome Something poison Ivy would love :) Great combo unexpected but great and once more confirmation that French crew on PPro is making most challenging strap watch combos Love it Best D
i dont know where my brain is, of course its 100th anniversary in 1975 not 25th. doh! i had one years ago, but it was well worn around the edges. i had to put my 1964 spaceview in for service recently and it needed a new coil, but now its back and good a...
That was a seriously high tech piece of kit in 1964, the year they invented the computer mouse and the 8-track cassettes. A piece of history from the era of mini-skirts! This is my first, but I am seriously on the hunt for more, especially from the 60's l...
quite a complicated dial to read Ken. i have the original Ollech & Wajs earlybird as well as this homage. i do wonder what the pilots initially thought of these 24 hour dials in the 60's. best G
A mid-Sixties Breitling. Rare because of the ref which is 765 and the double marked dial. Wakmann were the US distributor for Breitling at the time. It's been with me over a decade and is just a great size and style that it's always a pleasure to wear. Fr...
I like your Minerva pics very, very much. In fact, I like the watch a lot! Blued hands are so touching. And, did you say Kawasaki? Is it the name of the rose? Sounds Japanese, but shamefully, I didn't know such rose.... You learn something everyday! Thank...
The Kawasaki rose is named after its inventor, Toshikazu Kawasaki, an origami designer and math teacher from Japan. Kawasaki invented an unique curling technique that creates the illusion of overlapping rose petals. It's quite difficult to fold, I use abo...
.. The first , the DSA - Europe in a mild late summer , with the right ambiance behind.. Reflecting calmly.. On a nice day The second, one of my favorites with a play of light and shadow with my beloved Polaris A sunny day - just before Christmas..on a Ch...
.. was assuming it was in relation to the Rolex - little saga, again . ;)) So, apologies, for having been superficial ! ( you may ignore most of my PM, therefore) Now to the mainpoint: Yes, yes, and 3- times Yes - I would need & LOVE another special favor...
Eitan's reference to the WS thread on HOME reminded me. Here are some siblings of that great ref. 765, early 1940s to 1965. some shots from Mahe last week and a wristie from today ...
Bought once, sold once ... let´s see what the future will bring :-) Ken, aka Mr. Trilogy ... at least in the early days. The picture above is for you. HAGWE to all, Oliver ...
.. when you posted about the trilogy acquisition happened..... Not all the same day, but two of them on the same day, if my memory serves me right. It feels like yesterday.... I would LOVE the black 1815..... Do you still have it? Thank you for reminding ...
No, the "Langeitis" was bad but not that bad ;-) It was just close, but not on the same day :-) None is left, but the black dial 1815 was a huge mistake to sell. It was probably the best price : value ratio ever and a pleasure to wear - especially for bus...
... it was so close that you drove to somewhere and bought some - this is my version, but obviously confused :-) It is always sad to see any watches go..... Well, that's life. Meeting and saying good bye. Hope you will meet great watches going forward. Th...
.. why people, including you and a few others, start tempting me into the Rolex world at the same time, especially 5512, 5513..... Nice, just nice! Ken
I instantly fell in love since I tried it on my wrist last summer!...you know that thing that hits you in the face and that we call "un coup de foudre"!... Matt
Here are a few I like. And since I haven't been here since New Years Eve, ¡¡¡HAVE A GREAT YEAR EVERYBODY!!! My best wishes to all of you, dear friends. ...
Thank you Ken for your kind words... I'm honored. As you might remember I just started coming back here after losing my previous nametag so it would really be something to win so early in relation of my presence in the website. But the real and true prize...
.. nice taste, Gary, nice taste... as always. Congrats for your new piece and wear it in the best of your health! I hope to visit you guys again this year, I hope.... You can come to Tokyo, instead, too :-) Thank you, Gary! Ken
That last visit was great fun! I'm not getting to Asia with much regularity these days but if I do will definitely advise -- and you are of course always welcome here... Best, Gary
It is (I hope) now in "final" form with a small few tweaks since the original delivery -- one visible to the eye, others behind the scenes to improve the operations of the calendar and moon phase. Almost four years in the making, from inception to final e...
Sublime as always, Gary! The warmth in your shots always comes thru. Presumably with the 85 PCE .... must get me one of those .... And oh ! What a watch ! Top fog for me this week , in more ways than one !
The watch is a sight to behold, feels fantastic on the wrist, imparts a sense of occasion in a very understated manner. An extremely dignified yet strong timepiece, quite simply the most elegant watch I have seen in a long time ! Thank you, Nico !
An extremely sunny day at the coast ... i will never get rid of this LLD ... it sticks to my wrist like a Pirelli P Zero to the black tarmac of Spa-Francorchamps (sorry, couldn't think of anything else) ... . And i just remember i have this Wittnauer ... ...
... it certainly looks cold, but the wrist doesn't look old, Bim :-) I take it you like F1? That was (still is?) one of the most famous circuit in the F1 circus..... Stopped seeing F1 quite some time ago... Thank you, Bim! Ken
The wrist is getting older ... and so is the owner :-) ... but i'm not complaining ... a couple of weeks ago i still felt like i was 20 (i think that was due to the people around me :-) ...) ... I also realized that when i will buy another serious watch t...
.. Just wanted to say, how much I liked your WS which captures this moment: the sea, mellow sunlight, blue sky, long shadows .. and your super Wittnauer ! A real pleasure to look at ! :) Have a great Sunday ! My best, hs PS: only allowed to comment on the...
That Wittnauer is a great watch indeed, all thanks to a fellow vampire who told me to get it ... after receiving it i was very grateful :-) .. did cost me a liter of blood though ... Bim
.. It always generates new love(s), doesn't it ? Again, congrats to that piece !! We always enjoy these pieces, coming with the help or advice from our friend (.."you-know-who-he-is); Again, enjoyed your pic ( the one I am "allowed" to comment); Have a gr...

Hi Damjan, as our verdicts here have almost no significance at all apart from being pleasant if you are selected and mentioned, even a trial in real life can be most disturbing if you are innocent. So we should save our bit of good judges for these occasi...
