Popping through Singapore on the way to the Maldives, I had a day to kill so I spent the morning at Dempsey Hill, my old Sunday brunch haunt, and then back to Marina Bay Sands to my hotel and some shopping. Happened to enter the casino for a quick look, and ended up at the Blackjack tables. I do not usually gamble since gambling Global markets is essentially my profession, but still why not play a few hands. Thirty minutes later, and SGD 20,000 better off, I walked back through the shopping mall to the hotel. On quick impulse I popped into one of the larger AD's, and within ten minutes, walked out with this. I'd seen extended family members living in Monaco sporting Corum's on their wrists so I thought they can't be that bad. No thinking, no comparing, nothing. I figured I could use another dive watch in the Maldives, and this seemed OK. Back in the hotel, I immediately regretted the mad impulse buy. I never wear luxury watches on a dive since nothing can replace a Suunto. But anyway, a short detour and I got an OK watch, and a lovely dinner at Daniel Boulud's Bistro with some change to spare. This was before the start of my education when I enlisted on this forum. Best, Dean
