Result in for Static shot of the week

Sep 14, 2014,06:16 AM

Hi Baron,

I was considering 4 static photos.

1) Matt's second pic, side profile of his Big Crown ;
2) Amanico's JLC Geophysique on his orange roof top ;
3) Blomman's GP Gyromatic placed on a wooden GP cube ;
4) Patrice's Rolex DRSD

Tough decision. To the man on the street who has no interest in wristwatches, all the above can be stealth or unknown or even unheard of. Does stealth mean a black dial watch, or a lesser known brand? Does stealth mean a watch worn and appearing to be humble looking? Or stealth from the way the picture is taken? Or stealth from hiding under the sleeves... I find no straight answers here. It is to each his own preference.

I have to pick Nicolas' Geophysique (not sure if it's spelled Geophysic ?). May have been due to less distinctive looking compared to a Sub / Sea Dweller look with big crown / double red, and Blomman's Gyromatic which has a date aperture, less stealthy in my very humble opinion...

Stealth in my own words, under the radar lies a great watch..

There is going to be one happy French guy in Paris.

KCKL....many thanks for delivering a well-considered set of stealth watches and for the overall verdict.

the one being sold at Christies. But the geophysique is a watch that would suit your collecting style. Your interested in technical aspects very much - so it would fit with collecting style. Best Edmond

Well deserving! [nt]

Only a purist would understand the understated significance of the geophisique. Tres Bien!

A second verdict for Wristscan.....

 By: Baron - Mr Red : September 14th, 2014-08:20
Dear Joe: here is my verdict for this week end W/S in the wrist scan category. I feel a stealth watch should not telegraph onlookers about the true value of the timepiece. It is the type of watch I wear when visiting some troublesome parts of my own City,...

My fav, too... :-)
