Application of lume has expanded quite a bit over the past few years. We see lume on bezels, on crowns, even on lugs (on more fashionable watch brands) Let me see your favorite application of lume! Here is my favorite. A very traditional pick. My Blancpai...
Team, Here are some that I took yesterday and today. 1) First a MB. Discrete and elegant, as it should be on this type of watch. 2) On a diver. So bright as it's possible or reasonable. 3) The Dark Side of the Moon. Just enough. 4) Another diver. The fish...
Why, considering that Super Luminova provider seems to be the same, some manufacturers have a lasting lume and others don't? I don't think that is the Luminova quantity or even the area. I guess that is something different. I understand that a more dressi...
I had this discussion with JLC which chose Superluminova " C3 " for their diving watches such as the NSA; for its super luminous properties. Best, Nicolas
.. you would part from that 2913 ? .. Pls drop me a line !! Have been looking for one, for quite some time.. - Padawan is always ready !.. Especially when Dr Mamadu is calling.. ;) ;) Best, hs

Ya'll don't know me but besides being a strap whore I'm also a BIG TIME nut job for LUME, I use to collect micro divers in my earlier yrs (still do ) & they have some killer lume. I don't know if these types of pieces are excluded here but I thought I...
That is an excellent shot of the lume on the Remora but that photo of the Junhans is exceptional! Amazing that microbrands can get it right but much larger companies can't Cheers, Mike

:-) Never understood that either, but big brands have much better if not most of the micro brands are very reliable pieces, good for everyday beaters, diving & alot are very appealing to me.
...of that second watch, William - what is it? That is a dazzling collection of lume. Forget "Mr PAM" or "Mr Micro-brand diver": you are henceforth officially "Mr Lume". Cheers, pplater.
.. especially for tool & travel watches, I do like good luming, - although you might tell me, ".. Why?.. You've got your smartphone. " But then, why a watch at all ?? ;) Because our heart drives the brain and not vice versa ! Best, hs
1/ Top row: left: TT Polaris '68, right: Rolex Milgauss ( short light exposition) 2/ middle row: left: Reverso TT 1931, right: Rolex Milgauss = redundant to top/ right , but ( longer light expo to highlight the different lume color @ 3,6,9 ..) - difficult...
... shots of not less great timepieces to enjoy! With little time to take some special photographs for this W/S I had to search in my H/D and found some pictures of this watch which I bought a few years ago because: 1) It is a Submariner (do I need a bett...
. . . from folks who aren't necessarily into watches. A recognizable Rolex, to be sure, but the cobalt dial and two-tone canvas make for an especially arresting appearance. One of the guys that hangs out at the seaside dive bar has one; he's always gettin...
... From people which usually don t pay much attention to watches. Regarding ladies... Well ... Nice to know it also atracts their eyes! Hagwe Art! Kind regards, Abel.
... Third picture was taken with very little light, but exposure was too long and the results is it looks like taken with more available light than the one I acualy had. Hagwe Hs! Kind regards, Abel
You're not really saying that, are you??? You're a man with a keen eye for the finer detail; for the subtle, elegant line. An aesthete if ever there was one. You have shown us the contrast between a fine scalpel and a blunt chainsaw; surely you're not a c...
. . . worse. :-) Next time, I'll listen to my better judgement and use a more appropriate analogy. How's this? Regular . . . . . . vs enhanced. ;-) ...
...(pardon the egregious pun), the Linde Werdelin Oktopus moonphase: (photo credit: Bryant Geer). There must be a truckload of others. Any starters? Cheers, pplater. ...
Hi Mike, thanks for the enlightening theme of this week´s wrist shot thread! My two aspirants look like this in the dark (I´m sure most of you will guess what watches are shown here): ... and like this in the bright daylight: and like this on my wrist: As...
The lume of the Omega 300M series is very nice, although I never got accustomed to the "Bond Seamaster´s" hands hich look like they were cut out in the centre. But the lume is impeccable :-). My best regards anaesdoc
Can't go wrong with either of those two watches on any occasion. Great shots, thanks for taking time this week. I'm on about the same latitude as Austria...so I'm dealing with less and less sunlight everyday too! Not enough daytime to get everything done ...
Austria is (at least a bit) closer to the equator than where I live, but I admit the advantage of these few degrees in latitude is not really recognisable. What matters more and more in winter is to make the best possible use of daylight and not to dawdle...
You are right: a lot of lume is apt for tool watches, but not fitting to dress watches. BTW, your riddle was too much for my modest knowledge of watches (I got 2 out of 6 watches), but a very good idea! Kind regards anaesdoc
Hi all, Lume is a challenge for vintage watches...but I like challenges, so to answer to the thread launch with a modern Blancpain, here are some pics with my 1955 Fifty fathoms: In the sun: Some macro: A WS: And my challenge of the day, a night shot: Wow...
.. Next to enjoying this cool marvel, loosing oneself in the blinking splendid labyrinth, hearing the chime is the real cherry on the cake ! This piece draws one's attention ( mine every time !) like magic ! Nifty idea - no lume but chime ! Best, hs
...but your 'logic' is sophistry! ;-) A marvellous macro of a marvellous piece, mon cher confrère. Hopefully, one day, this very model from the great house might find a home in the Antipodes. Cheers, pplater.
post until now! I thought the reason why you focused the photo so tight was to show the little luminous dots... But I should have known by the title of the post you were referring to the sound. Cheers and sorry for being so dense. Mike

Is my favorite application of lume. A tad big for me but now with the special edition with the horse on the dial (my Chinese zodiac sign), I am very tempted by it ! :) Cheers Robin The Super Lumi-nova comes alive. Notice the Horse and the bridge of the ch...
Although I understand why MB released this version, for me the horse is a bit gimmicky. The lumed chrono counters area bit cool, now they just need to put lume on the chrono disks to complete the functionality. Best, Mike
...that Mrs QJ 'likes 'em dirty'???? Is that a professional assessment of the man she likes most? Are you moving over to the dark side? ;-) Sport, you are going to have to reel in the beloved child-bride: it starts with a Daytona, but we all know that it ...
Great photo. HAGWE, Mike PS- What is it about our wives that that they don't "take care" of the watches. Drives me crazy that I have to take hers away once a month or two just to clean it up and each time I find a new ding! :-)
There is some good detailed lume work on that dial. Wished some aspects of the dial were brighter but the fine details like the minute indices and the seconds hand is impressive. Best, Mike
the indices? If so, that is backwards to what I'm used to seeing on all my other watches where the hands are usually brighter. Thanks for sharing, Where were you off too in the dark? Best, MIke
Roman numerals slightly confusing in the dark but that is a great watch! It is so practical as a daily wear but carries the PP reputation as well. Thanks for sharing KIH. Its funny, I find lume almost indispensible on a watch so my collection is almost op...
