Static verdict....
Mar 29, 2015,12:17 PM
Hi blomman,
thank you for the honour, the pleasure and the burden to act as judge for
static photo this week.
Something very nice happened for the first time while I was "working"
on the pictures:
Mrs. stromer (from outside my room): "Are you over the photos
yet?"
Me: Yes, dear, want to have look at them?
Mrs. stromer (walking in): Oh, yes!
Mrs. stromer and me look through the photos together.....
Me: Which one do you like best?
Mrs. stromer: That one with ......... (disclosed below).
Me: So be it.
There are some shots that beautifully reflect the "Change of seasons"
topic of this week. Some do so more obviously, some more discretely.
Plus there is one which may be out of topic but thrilled me nevertheless so
that I decided to give a third honorable mention to Matt's (MattS) GP Olimpico.
I just love it when a toolwatch is given a good life being worn, used and maybe
even scratched. Matt's picture with the watch embracing wrenches reflects that
idea in an iconic way.
From the seasonal photos I picked two more to be mentioned honorably:
The first one is Nilo's (nilomis) Aqua Terra for the beatuy of the composition and for the image of a bug crawling through the barks that the black and yellow second hand in this context created in my mind.
The second one is Abel's (subexplorer) Daytona in the hard light of what I
think is a late winter/early spring day. Here is again the subject of a
toolwatch showing signs of a good life but this time combined with an discrete
but clear link to this week's topic.
And the winner is... blomman's GP with the snowdrop.
It was picked by Mrs. stromer for the tenderness and the short lifespan of the
snowdrop in its contrast to the watch designed to withstand and measure the
passing of time.
Sorry, my friend. I know this burdens you with the task to announce your own
victory, but - you know - it was not me .........
Best, my friend and thanks for the fun,
from Mrs. stromer and myself
Thank you Mr and Mrs S!
Very happy to see two GP's in the top 4!
Mr Baron - what's the odds on that?!
Best
Blomman
