I ask myself this question whether getting older makes more nostalgic and partially blind for the beauty of watches in our age. But I have to realize it is more than that. These vintage Omegas are simply design classics which will still be wearable when many contemporary watches and brands will have been forgotten. We still admire and listen to Bach, Vivaldi, Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn, Schubert, Chopin, Liszt and many others, but I doubt we will still be hearing our contemporary hits in 200 years. Frank Sinatra and the Beatles are probable candidates who may survive, maybe Elvis, but most will perish (as did of course many composer from the so-called classic period in music). It´s a pity I will not be around to check my prophecy !
My favorite brand in terms of wearable watches in our time is Longines, particuluarly their Heritage Collection.
