Team,
As a clear demonstration that we, even if we live forever, will not understand completely the tastes of a woman, here is a short and true story.
I was hunting a Jaeger Lecoultre e861 for some time.
A seller made an offer to me, it had a perfect dial, got it and I need return it because of a movement problem.
Months later, he redo the offer stating that he got the offending part and that my watchmaker could fix it in no time.
Got it again and my watchmaker did his magic and delivered the watch in shape.
The strap was original but not is proper conditions but I had another original JLC strap that fits the watch perfectly.
All set, put the watch on my wrist and my wife made the final comment: "Gorgeous, fits me better!" and strapped on her wrist.
When, as a last attempt, mention that the watch was a "bumper", she said: "I love this tuh, tuh (the bumper noise)".
Gone! I never imagine that a vintage watch could cause a so strong impression on her.
That night went to dinner with a friend couple and she was all proud with the E861 on her wrist.
Here is the E861, with the few seconds that I could borrow from her:
