Ducati Supersport steering plate watches

Once upon a time,
in the early nineties, a barely adult, nicknamed Heartbreaker, loved to ride his Ducati Supersport 350 Junior. His motorbike was a "special" one, with a cool look, designed and partially realized by himself.
Heartbreaker needed to have a watch on his motorbike, but they hadn't yet invented those bike trip computer with tons of infos (and, after all, our Ducatista hadn't a heavy wallet, like every teenager).
One day, his mother found plastic watches for free in laundry detergent boxes and gave them to his son, well known also for his passion for timepieces.
Suddenly, the young biker had an eureka moment: those watches would be perfect for his Ducati, because they was enough robust and rainfall-resistant!
First of all, he had to find a way to safely attach the piece to the steering plate; the strap was too short to fasten the watch to the plate itself and, moreover, the vibrations and the road-stress could have caused problems. The solution was quickly found, and it was a good one: to remove the strap and to attach the watch with some Velcro was an easy, safe and aesthetically pleasing arrangement.
But, our hero needed to customize the instruments: he would never ever attach to his much beloved motorbike a plastic-laundry detergent box-watch, without a bit originality.
So Heartbreaker personalised his new steering plate watches as follow:
- the case was painted in aluminium
- the bezel was painted in carbon-look
- the dial was painted in red, with a "Ducati Supersport" script
The watch was made in two versions, with a different dial layout. They both served well Heartbreaker for many happy rides and lived happily ever after.
Dear friends, thanks to this thread, you gave me the opportunity to awake very, very beautiful memories. More than twenty years have gone by, and now I'm thinking of those times with a lot of pleasure and tenderness. Again, thank you!!!
Today, the two watches of the above story are not in a great shape, as you can see by the following pictures. I haven't found any picture showing them on the bike, but if you're interested I can try to make a deeper research.
I've shot the watches together with my motorbike's key. Yes, I still have it, but she's also in a not-so-good shape... :-(
Finally, here are my most unusual / uncommon watches.
