. . . as well there should be. It's easy to forget they're a true manufacturer, and have carved out a niche for themselves making rugged mechanical watches for decades that cost about the same as European makers charge for servicing their products.
Dad acquired this Seiko Sea Lion in January '66 . . .
. . . and proceeded to wear it almost daily for almost four decades with only two trips to a watchmaker for servicing before handing it over ten years ago. I had it serviced for a third time then, and regulated (not serviced, just adjusted) a few years ago. Yesterday, I had it timed just to see how it was running.
+3 seconds.
Not bad for a watch that had seen hard use for the better part of its existence.
