Downsizing and consolidation year
Dec 18, 2014,18:02 PM
Great theme, Art, and looking forward to see the final product of your Omega that's still in the workshop...
This year I think has seen my collection being consolidated. As with evolving and I guess a better understanding of my own likes and dislikes, all large sized watches (read above 42mm) have gone, as well as chronographs, just because I find them too noisy.
I'll start with those gone -
Milgauss - "watch-napped" by my dad
Both these chronographs are out. I still love them and think about them every once in a while, but they just didn't get the wrist time they deserved
At 43.5mm, this Ingenieur was too big for me to be comfortable
Portuguese Chrono - gifted to my brother who is a "one watch" guy, so this is really being enjoyed
Out of the collection. A lesson to me that my 6.75" wrists cannot accept 55mm lug to lug comfortably
Also out of the collection although I love it's simplicity. I see a potential for a PAM512 in the future though :-|
And those in -
Tastes change - what can I say. An expensive experiment and lesson to me, but it had to happen at some point
The math says, 7 out and 6 in, so that's a -1 for this year.
The 5164A needs more wrist time, and I still need to get comfortable with it....
Have a merry Christmas and happy holidays ahead!
